Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,
Please Save The Date For The Best Of ASCO Africa 2020 on December 11th and 12th

Living Well Beyond Cancer and our co-sponsor this year, The Uganda Cancer Institute, are very excited to announce that Best of ASCO Africa will be offered as a virtual meeting for Oncologists throughout Africa for the first time this December. This meeting aims to share the crucial discoveries and scientific progress presented in June at ASCO-2020 while tailoring the presentations to practicing oncologists' in low resource settings. Hopefully, offering new treatment strategies will help raise the quality and accessibility of care for all patients with cancer in Africa.

The Best of ASCO Africa will be presented as a two-day virtual meeting for oncologists on Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12, 2020. A Special one-day virtual meeting for Oncology Nurses, Social Workers, and Pharmacists has also been put together for Saturday, December 12, 2020. We have an outstanding international faculty who will present the latest scientific discoveries in eight sessions, including;

  • Lung Cancer
  • Head and Neck Cancer
  • Hematologic Malignancies
  • Lymphoma
  • GU Cancers
  • Skin Cancer and Rare Tumors
  • Breast Cancer

  • G.I Cancers

A multidisciplinary panel case discussion will follow each abstract set that we expect to be lively and informative.
Also, special sessions are being tailored to address common and critical issues affecting the delivery of cancer care in Africa, including;

Palliative Care
Cancer Survivorship
Radiation Oncology for the Medical Oncologist

We would love to have you virtually attend Best of ASCO Africa 2020, which will be presented "live" on December 12th and 13th and will be available online for one month. We have an excellent program planned that we think will be very educational and also enjoyable at the same time.

Regards and thanks,

Kenneth Miller, M.D. - President, Living Well Beyond Cancer LLC.
Jackson Orem, M.D. - Director, Uganda Cancer Institute, Kampala, Uganda.
